MooseFS is a fault tolerant, network distributed file system. It spreads data over several physical comodity servers, which are visible to the user as one resource. For standard file operations MooseFS acts like any other Unix-like file systems:
Distinctive features of MooseFS are:

Our Pro solutions include support with many available options: dedicated advisors, remote assistance, on-site assistance, pro active monitoring, dedicated software releases and many more. We strive to deliver a complete solution for every bussines in need of efficient and reliable storage.
MooseFS CE (Community Edition) is a natuaral continuation of previous editions of MooseFS product released under Open Source type of license (GGPLv3).
Under the new license Community Edition is free to use, with open source code and with ability to patch, modify etc. - but without the right to OWN (using lawyers language) or SELL the modified version.
MooseFS is a key system for Gemius/Coretechnology in-house operations. We currently store over 2.5 PB of data, processing more than 150 000 events per second, every second, 24/7. The system is so crucial, that we do not allow anyone outside of our own development team to make changes in the structure of the code used by us.
Therefore our philosophy was to give this superb tool to everyone that would like to use it. We never aimed to create developers community - although your ideas, bug reports and wishes were carefully taken into account by our own developers. Of course you can modify the code of currently released versions for your own use. You can also send us comments and patches - but it does not mean we will include those in the main source code.
We still want the community to use MooseFS - that is not changing. What we do not want is the situation, when someone uses the freely available code to create their own copy/fork to make profit. Therefore we created two versions:
